Patiala’s Heritage crafts mela 2020

The most awaited time of the year is  over as the royal city of Patiala had its first day of heritage crafts mela. The people of city specially shopaholics like me are filled with enthusiasm and joy. Its definitely a spot to go and enjoy with anyone you want to go with. This is the third  consecutive mela since 2018. The venue of the mela which witnesses the arrival of numerous people not only from different states in India but also people from abroad. I remember, last year, my favourite stall was of Thailand accessories like bandanas , jewellery and what not. This time the tenure of crafts mela is from 22 february to 5 march. The venue, Sheesh mahal, was all decked up on this eve.

Around 150 craftsmen from country and abroad would sell fine metalwork, ethnic clothes, traditional jewellery , Jaipuri suits , Kerela’s spices , Agra’s marbles and what not . The MP of Patiala and the wife of Captain Amrinder Singh would inaguarate events. Last year also many celebrities came , some of them were Sonam bajwa , Satinder Sartaaj etc. Not only its an event for performances of different types and shopping but also its a great place from foodies. People can here eat variety of cuisines like maharashtrian pav bhaji , vada pav , bhajia, kasmiri pulav, dosa etc . This time also various prominent personalities would come up like Padma bhushan awardee Zakir hussain, Raja Radha Reddy who has received Padma bhusan in Kuchipudi and famous Punjabi singer Ranjit bawa. The best decision of the  health department officials is  to provide health related facilities to all visitors. Screening of all the people coming from abroad has been done to curb out the risk of coronavirus. One should must go and enjoy their pals . Patiala’s sheesh mahal is a place you definitely cant miss to go.
