The author of the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” is Robert Kiyosaki and it is about him and his two dads—his real father who was poor and the father of his best friend who was rich. The book is all about the ways in which both men has shaped his thoughts about having money, being rich and also thoughts of financial issues. The book explains the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.
There are 6 lessons in the book –
Lesson 1: The Rich Don’t Work for Money
Lesson 2: Why Teach Financial Literacy?
Lesson 3: Mind Your Own Business
Lesson 4: The History of Taxes and The Power of Corporations
Lesson 5: The Rich Invent Money
Lesson 6: Work to Learn—Don’t Work for Money
Kiyosaki tells the story of his childhood in the book when he met his friends father who was rich, clever, smart and a businessman, not like his own father who was a school teacher. Kiyosaki tells that, his father was a man of ethics. He believed that money comes from hardwork and should come from hardwork only.He believed that a man needs to earn enough money to pass his life atleast. To him, life’s purpose was to build a house, have a family, live happily ever after and retire from the job. He was a lower-middle-class man who never thought like the rich man.
Also when the Kiyosaki as a kid met his friend’s father, he saw all opposite philosophy and he believed that money is the most powerful thing in the world. . . His father had a steady job where the rich dad had multiple sources of income. The book also talks about the assets and liabilities and how anything that doesn’t bring you money back is not an asset but a liability.
I like the story part and motivational part of the book .
Anyone who goes through the book will find it highly motivational and will definitely give it an afterthought on how to become rich. I think what Robert tried to do in this book was to tell the world how he became rich and what are the things that worked for him.The book needs to be read at least once . For me, it was a good book and I can vouch that it helped me.
