ever thought that you would have been able to study amid the outbreak of pandemic ? I never thought so , but online classes and digital platform has made this possible. Due to the spike in number of cases of coronavirus, the centre government has already announced the lockdown or curfew in every state of India. This could have become a reason of a huge academic loss but the good thing is that almost every educational institution in India have indulged themselves in online teaching . This has been possible because of various tech softwares and online teaching sites like Go to meeting , Go to webinar , Zoom , Google hangouts and many more. Its just so amazing that one is able to study during flexible hours and in the comfort of home.

according to All India survey on higher education 37 million students in India are enrolled in higher studies. There are 993 universities and 39,931 colleges in India , but with the help of these online classes the studies are not being hampered . The Indian Institute of Technology too have started online classes. Softwares are even providing free access of video conferencing for studies till July 1. I am myself a student studying in Chitkara university , pursuing bachelors in mass communication . I am very happy and impressed by the proper management of of university which has led to bring no hindrance in our studies. Chitkara has started online courses for around 10,000 students. Even attendance is being given to the students , there is a particular time table that is to be followed by the students. Digital platform has reduced the academic loss to zero. Our dean even said that attendance recorded in online classes is much more than regular classes. Thanks to tech softwares such as coursera as well which are also providing free access to its services during corona outbreak.
online classes are so interactive, student can ask any question through chat or even by unmuting the mic and directly talking to the teacher. Other benefits include that teachers can and are using approaches like designs , quizzes and smaller interactive sessions. The best educational institutions like IIT Delhi , JNU , JMI and others have shifted to online teaching procedure. Like every other thing online classes do have a drawback but according to me its very little as compared to its advantages. The main drawback of online teaching is of technical issues and internet speed. The main problem comes when students face network problems as even the consumption of internet is increased because even the family members are working from home. Overall the usage of digital platform by schools, universities and colleges has reduced the academic loss to a great extent amid the outbreak of pandemic Covid-19. No matter what but the show must go on !!! We are lucky we have the opportunity to study during the times of pandemic so we should make the maximum use of it.
